i find that writing things down on a calendar that i see every day helps a *lot*, especially for things that i should be doing all the time, like cleaning the kitty boxes

the idea of a &quot;base coat&quot; makes a lot of sense to me, and reminds me a lot of &lt;i&gt;zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance&lt;/i&gt;, though i&#039;m not sure why; i haven&#039;t read that book in almost a decade now.

he talks a lot about &quot;gumption traps&quot;, that situations and cognitive processes that result in not making change or getting anything done, and i think that&#039;s what of the most lasting and valuable insights of the book
