There is this book I’m searching for. It’s the first book I remember owning, and 7 years or so ago my mom got rid of it. It was a very thick hard-cover book. A nursery rhyme book, with a yellow cover, and these beautiful, Victorian drawings of children.
Inside were these fabulous rhymes:
Tell tell tit
Your tongue shall be split
And all the doggies of the town
Shall have a little bit.
There was an old woman
Who lived under the hill
And if she’s not dead
She’s living there still.
So many others. I really want this book. And going through the art of the Victorian era, I came across artwork that looked like what I want. That’s all, silly little search for a book I had in the late 70s, early 80s.

Since you picked on my spelling…
I’m pretty sure it should be “Tell tale tit”.

Doh! Okay, well, considering the fact that I was watching Coupling, writing in this here blog, responding to a discussion in my on-line class, AND holding a discussion with Tom about how stupid it is to be out until 2 AM when he’s been complaining of illness, I don’t think I did such a poor job.
But thanks.
