Martin Sheen is my president.

We’re watching this whole “Democracy Plaza” crap. They keep mentioning that a lot of people are waiting as much as — da da dum — one hour to place their votes. Well. I waited 2 hours. And I waited 2 hours because of my name. I think that’s very stupid. Tom was done in an hour, because his last name starts with a “w.” There were a lot of things I saw they could have done to fix part of the problem, but whatever.

I’m happy to do my part, even if it takes longer than … well, something that takes very long. Only, this whole electoral college thing is pissing me off. Especially because, for the first time in my life, I’m in a place that votes against what I believe. I have yet to find a decent argument for the electoral college. If someone has some good reasoning, whether a link to an argument, or thier own personal, please let me know.

And, listen carefully, whether you vote my way or not, you sure as hell had better have voted. If I hear that you haven’t voted and are complaining about the government… Well, let’s just say it won’t be pretty.

Also, if you have the time, read Dave Sim’s High Society and Church and State. It makes this whole traveshamockery just a whole lot funnier.

I’m beginning to think people really would vote for the goat.

You really needed to be convinced of that? I’m just now realizing that the goat would win.
I’m also thinking this is my fault. Here I am in D.C. and I went to one protest rally in the year and a half I’ve been here. It’s karma for my inability to act.

How can people elect this man? And how can the country really be split nearly in two?

    I feel cold.

Over at Krist Novoselic’s Fix Our United States there is a good article about the electoral college: Presidential Elections Should Be for All of Us
